As you can see I enjoy showing off pictures of my beautiful breathe taking Ragdolls. My name is Anne Paul, originally from Houston, Texas, but I married a Louisiana boy, and I have lived in Westlake, Louisiana for over 33 years. After hurricane Laura and hurricane Delta destroyed our home in Westlake, Louisiana, I had to evacuate to my parent's home in Houston with human children, cats and kittens, where I will live until finishing the reconstruction of our home in Louisiana and then buying a home in the greater Houston area Spring / Summer of 2022 time frame. Growing up in Houston, Texas, I was exposed to the cat fancy and had Persian cats with my mom in the 1970's and early 1980's before the breed standard changed. I miss the days of healthy doll face Persians, but the ragdolls have that beautiful doll face look, which has stole my heart. Additionally, I went to Texas A & M University , where I majored in Marine Biology, and then went on to McNeese State University for Finance & Economics. Eric (my husband) and I have six children, Mo (34), Nathan (30), James (28), Katie (26) - Kaite passed away in 2016 and we inherited her baby daughter, AnnaBelle age seven, Christie (23) and the late life baby Zack (19). In addition to raising six children, my day job is foreclosure property reviews for government assets, United States treasury work, misappropriation of funds, and contracting government work in relationship to real estate. Basically, I am government contract labor and not a real estate company. Therefore, I look forward to coming home to a house full of children and Ragdolls, who act like human children everyday. A few weekends a month, AnnaBelle and I attend cat shows. The children and I use to go to the TICA or CFA cat shows throughout the USA lower 48 states and have went to Alaska back in 2007, where Fire Dancing Cochise became a Supreme Grand Champion.
In addition to cat shows, my life is filled with the children's activities for my oldest three granddaughters. In addition to six children, my oldest son is the father of two little girls, which he has custody taking care of the girls himself, and my daughter Katie, who passed away, my husband and I are raising her daughter, AnnaBelle. It seems like yesterday that Katie was the little girl clerking at the cat shows and helping me groom the cats. As the family is increasing, we could almost do our own junior achievement ring at the cat shows. Mo, my oldest son still comes to many of the cat shows clerking and his daughters are starting to learn about the cats. Currently, I am CFA Ragdoll Breed Council, President of CFA Ragdoll Breed Club, Board member of Houston Cat Club, President of Brazos Valley Cat Club, and President of Magnolia Cat Club. We are also members of St. John Bosco Catholic Church, and our youngest child of six just graduated from St. Louis Catholic High School May 2020 and is now pre-med at LSU. Christie, our youngest daughter is a RN major transferring to Texas A & M in January. Son number three, James and his wife just had their second baby. Nathan, who is son number two works for my husband's company and is enjoying the single life. Our three oldest granddaughters including AnnaBelle were attending Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Lake Charles, Louisiana until the hurricanes damaged Southwest Louisiana. Now, AnnaBelle attends Saint Ambrose Catholic School in Houston, Texas. I can promise you - life is never dull in our home and all of the cats are well socialized with all the different ages of children.
Often people ask me why I chose to breed and show Ragdolls with such a full life already, and there are several reasons. In the early 1980's, my mom introduced me to Ragdolls, and it was always a breed she wanted to become involved with after she retired as a registered nurse at St Joseph Catholic Hospital in Houston. I was always in love with the breed for many years, but always was saving a stray or helping with finding an abandoned kitty a good home. However, my mom never got her Ragdolls as she was diagnosed with cancer just after retiring. After my passed away from cancer, my daughter Christie asked me for a Ragdoll to love since Maw-Maw would not be here to love anymore. I told her that was a great idea as mom had been in contact with Ragdoll breeders to reserve kittens already, and so then it began and I returned to the cat fancy after being gone for many years. We got a Ragdoll named Sammy from Emily Hiscott / Emily's Ragdolls in Sugarland, Texas, and I was immediately intoxicated by this breed. Sammy was unlike any cat I had ever had in my life. He was soft like Rabbit's Fur, big healthy bones & muscles, docile, intelligent, playful, and he truly loved the family. It was a fight to hold the Ragdoll between Christie and I as well as the rest of the family. So the mania began, Eric & I agreed that this was a breed we wanted to become involved with by bringing more Ragdolls into our home to love, breeding the best standards of a Ragdoll, and showing our beloved kitty children. I owe many thanks to the breeders, who mentored me and helped me through the beginnings of Cajun Ragdolls. Thank you for trusting me with your wonderful kittens: Emilys Ragdolls, Ritzyrags, Bamarags, and Lonerock. I would like to give a big thank you for all the years my mom gave to me growing up with Persians and the knowledge of showing and breeding cats.
